A Case of Chylous Ascites in an Infant Girl




Abstract
Chylous ascites is rare in the pediatric age group and usually of unknown etiology or due to congenital abnormalities of the lymphatic system. This report describes three month old girl massive chylous ascites secondary to "congenital leaky leaky
lymphatics". She was managed with therapeutic paracentesis and skimmed milk feeding with medium chain triglyceride oil. Chylous ascites resolved and did not with introduction of a normal diet. A brier review of literatures is include.
